After competing in the World Premiere division of the recently concluded Osaka Asian Film Festival alongside Jerrold Tarog’s Bliss, Sigrid Andrea Bernardo’s Kita Kita (I See You) will finally have its Philippine premiere on Friday, May 12.
Featuring Alessandra de Rossi as Lea and Empoy Marquez as Tonyo, the movie is about two Filipinos in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. De Rossi’s role is a taxi tour guide who was involved in an accident which led to her being affected by temporary blindness. Her blindness, if not cured in a few weeks, could become permanent.
Meanwhile, Tonyo, her neighbor who uses his wit and humor to make a connection, is really determined to be her friend. The two gradually become closer and Lea’s blindness allow her to see the true character of Tonyo.
The film screening will be held on May 12, 8:30pm at the UP Cine Adarna. The cast and crew will also be there for a Q&A portion after the screening of the film.
Kita Kita (I See You) is directed by Sigrid Andrea Bernardo and produced by Piolo Pascual, Joyce Bernal, Erickson Raymundo and Suzanne Shayne Sarte under their film production outfit Spring Films. For more information about the film screening, check out Kita Kita’s Facebook page.
