On May 18, the music world starts mourning after the death of Chris Cornell was announced.
Cornell died in Detroit after a concert on Tuesday, May 17 according to his representative Brian Bumbery.
Bumbery said that everything was “sudden and unexpected.” The family would also like to ask for privacy and said that they will be working closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause of death.
According to BBC, a spokesperson for Detroit Police confirmed that they received a call just after midnight on Wednesday.
“He was found on the bathroom floor, our medical units were called and he was pronounced dead on the scene,” the spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, the medical examiner’s office said on Thursday that the cause of death has been determined “as hanging by suicide”but the full autopsy report has not yet been completed.
Aside from being one of the founders of Seattle 90’s grunge scene, Chris Cornell also won several Grammy awards and was nominated for Golden Globe as a singer, songwriter, guitarist, composer and lyricist.
