The long wait is over! After 5 long years, Cirque du Soleil will return to Manila to give us another one-of-a-kind show. For the first time in Asia, we will witness a show inspired by James Cameron’s Avatar entitled TORUK-The First Flight.
The show is the first Cirque du Soleil show to be based on a movie. Interesting, right? But before watching this world class event from the world’s largest entertainment theatrical production, have you ever wonder that you’re actually doing acrobatic skills in your everyday life? Yes, from commuting to work up to going home and sleeping in your bed, you can actually mimic some of their stunts!
With that, allow us to list some acrobatic skills that you might see in the show that you don’t know your using in your everyday life:
1. Free running (parkour)
When you’re running late on the way to work or school and you need to run as fast as you can. Run like a freerunner!
June officially starts the rainy season in the Philippines. And when we say rainy season, this is also the time of the year where we find ourselves running in puddles and try our best just to avoid it the gymnast style.
Not literally juggling the responsibilities, but because adulting is hard *sigh*, juggling our responsibilities or simply multitasking is the best way to do our jobs and chores on time.
Whether its jeepney, UV Express, bus, or even tricycle, when you’re dead tired, you’ll just end up pushing yourself inside the public utility vehicle just to get home and sleep. It’s kinda hassle, but in reality, you’ll do what it takes just to get home early.
5. Aerial silk
It’s cuddle weather and we know the laziness we feel when it is gloomy. Hugging your pillow and covering yourself with a good old blanket like an aerial silk gymnast is the best way to beat the cold weather.
6. Acrobatic Gymnastics (Women’s Pair)
When you’re with your friend and you see your ultimate crush, this scenario always happens to us. Everyone’s supportive when it comes to crushes, right? Yieeeee.
Cirque du Soleil: Toruk – The First Flight in Manila is happening on June 23 to July 2 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Tickets are available at all SM tickets outlet and at www.smtickets.com. For more details, check out Cirque du Soleil’s website.
