A Japanese student is going viral on social media for selling a dish called omurice around Cubao and near MRT North Avenue station in Quezon City.
“Kuya Omu-rice” as he calls himself, gained his fame when Facebook user Diane Adolfo tried the dish and described her experience on social media. The post has gone viral with over 69k likes and 20k shares.
In an interview with GMA News, Kuya Sawa or known as Kuya Omu-rice said that he is taking up a socio-political degree and currently here in the Philippines to research on his thesis.
He uses his Facebook page to promote his home-cooked rice delicacies. As of writing, “Kuya Omurice” has ganered over 79k followers since his page was made last June 16.
In case you’re curious, omurice is fried rice wrapped in egg omelette topped with ketchup. A pack of omurice costs P35 and he gives a P5 discount to those who would answer his survey about lowering the age of criminal liability in the country.
Aside from his goal to introduce the Japanese dish to the world, Kuya Sawa also wants to help street children in Manila. Aww!
