K-Pop group BTS and official soundtracks (OSTs) from the drama series Goblin ruled the first half of 2017 “Digital Top 100” Gaon K-Pop Charts, according to Soompi.
World popular boyband BTS sold a total of 725, 277 copies of the repackaged version of their second full-length album, “You Never Walk Alone,” almost 400,000 units ahead of second placer, global group GOT7’s “Flight Log_Arrival.”
TWICE is the only girl group to “break the glass ceiling” in the boy-group dominated album charts with both their “TWICECoaster_Lane 2” in 3rd and “Signal” at 5th place.
Leader of the legendary Girl’s Generation (SNSD) Taeyeon is also the only solo artist in the top 10, selling 142, 894 copies of “My Voice ~ The 1st Album,” securing her spot at 7th place.
Meanwhile, three OSTs from the hit drama Goblin topped the download charts. Dokkaebi starred Train to Busan lead actor Gong Yoo alongside Kim Go-eun and Lee Dong-wook.
Ailee’s “I Will Go To You Like The First Snow” placed first, with total downloads of 1, 676, 409 times. The track is 300,000 downloads ahead of runner up, musical duo AKMU’s “Last Goodbye.”
The 4th most downloaded track also from the hit drama is “Beautiful” of hip-hop and R&B singer Crush and settling for top 8 is the collaboration EXO’s Chanyeol and rapper Punch’s, “Stay With Me.”
Singer-songwriter IU also dominated the downloads chart with two hits on her name, “Through the Night” in the sixth spot and her G-Dragon collaboration song “Palette” at ninth.
The half-year “Digital Top 100” list is determined by the number of streams and downloads from January 1 to June 17.
