Spoken word poets Sarah Kay and Phil Kaye revealed their newest collaboration with the Japanese lifewear brand, Uniqlo.
“Poetry Beyond The Page” collection highlights lines from the poets’ different spoken word pieces including Sarah’s “Useless Bay,”and “Here and Now,” Phil’s “Beginning, Middle & End,” and the all-time-fave collaborative piece “When Love Arrives.”
“One of my favorite things in the world is to keep track of the way poetry and poets find their way to surprising places. I’m excited to share with you that the most recent surprising place my poetry has found itself is on a new line of t-shirts from UNIQLO USA! There are now eight different t-shirt designs bearing lines from poems by Phil Kaye & me available in the new “Poetry Beyond the Page” Collection!” Sarah wrote on her Facebook page.
“This is our first collaboration with Uniqlo, and our first experiment at letting lines of our poetry live on clothing, “beyond the page” (or stage). Check out all eight of the designs, and let us know what you think! (And if you do buy one of the shirts, or even spy one in stores, please share a photo of it here so I can see, or use the hashtag #poetrybeyondthepage! I’m excited to see the surprising places these poems wind up!),” she added.
You can buy #PoetryBeyondThePage shirts in Uniqlo stores in Japan, UK, Europe, New York, and Chicago. The collection will be soon available here in the Philippines!
