The Samsung Hall in SM Aura Premier, Taguig City was filled with people dancing and singing along to Oh Wonder’s songs during the Manila leg of the “Ultralife” world tour last July 21, Friday.

The London based alt-pop duo dazzled everyone with their groovy music and electrifying energy singing their hit singles like “Landslide,” “High On Humans,” “Drive,” and many more. In case you missed it, here are some awesome things that went down during Oh Wonder’s very first solo concert in Manila:

1. Crazy long lines greeted us

Although the concert proper started at 8pm, people started lining up at 2pm! Yes, you’ve read it right. 6 hours early just to secure a safe spot near the stage and near Josephine Vander Gucht and Anthony West. So dedicated!

2. Meet and greet with Josephine and Anthony

Before the show started, Oh Wonder took photos with fans, signed some memorabilia and thanked everyone for being there.

3. Clara Benin and Reese Lansangan opened the show

The “Grammar Nazi” singer performed few songs from her new EP entitled Of Sound, Mind, and Memory. After Lansangan, Clara Benin who came back from her indefinite hiatus, the singer-songwriter sung her popular songs that we haven’t heard live for almost a year! Their sets were filled with heart-melting acoustic sounds that got us with the chill vibes.

4. Oh Wonder played a long set

Oh Wonder opened the night with their newest song “High on Humans,” which is an upbeat song from their album entitled Ultralife. The alt-pop pair played a total of 15 songs including the crowd faves: “Without you,” “Technicolour Beat,” “Lose It,” “Midnight Moon,” and of course, “Drive.”

Before performing “All We Do,” Josephine shared some words of wisdom to their fans: “If you guys have anything you want to achieve, a massive dream or plans you want to hatch, don’t listen to anybody else. Listen to yourself. Believe in yourself and you will go far. Because the world is infinite and it will look after you.”

The duo also sang an acoustic version of “White Blood” that got everybody in tears. The crowd turned on their phone’s flashlights and waved their arms while singing, “Said you’d always be my white blood…circulate the right love~” Aww! *cries*

From their very first song “Body Gold” up to “Ultralife,” the two didn’t fail to perform with high energy and full of grace. Our hearts were very happy seeing the duo performing live and singing our favorite songs.

This night is truly one for the books. ‘Til we meet again, Anthony and Josephine. Manila loves you! <3
