The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), through its Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP), awarded special awards to three entries in the film festival during its thanksgiving night last August 20, Sunday.
The Critic’s Choice Award was given to Mikhail Red’s critically-acclaimed film Birdshot, which tells the story of a young farm girl who wanders off into a Philippine forest reserve.
The box office film about Fidel (JC Santos) and Stella (Bela Padilla) entitled 100 Tula Para Kay Stella that earned over P60M in its first five days won the Audience’s Choice award.
Meanwhile, Patay Na Si Hesus, the dark comedy film starring Jaclyn Jose brought home the Jury’s Choice Award.
The other entries were Pauwi Na by Paolo Villaluna, Salvage by Sherad Anthony Sanchez, Ang Manananggal sa Unit 23B by Prime Crisologo Cruz, AWOL by Enzo Williams, Bar Boys by Kip Oebanda, Hamog by Ralston Jover, Paglipay by Zig Dulay, Triptiko by Miguel Franco Michelena, and Star Na si Van Damme Stallone by Randolph Longjas.
Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino runs until Tuesday, August 22.
