After dropping some teasers about his comeback, Sam Smith finally released his new song entitled, “Too Good at Goodbyes.”
In an interview with Amazon Music Unlimited’s “Side By Side Experience” series, the English singer-songwriter revealed the inspiration behind his new single after four years. “This song is — I’ll be very open about it — it’s about a relationship I was in in 2016. I basically got dumped about three times. And on the third time that everything ended, I had got so good at walking out the door that I kind of knew what to do, and I had a tick box in front of me of all the things I would do to get over this person.”
Along with the single, Sam also created a video for the single exclusively for Spotify fans. The global music video premiere is available in approximately 40 playlists including Today’s Top Hits and This Is: Sam Smith in vertical format. Sam joins artists such as Selena Gomez and Avicii who have premiered vertical videos on Spotify.
