Shut up and dance to this new track.
American pop-rock band Walk The Moon released the music video for their new single, “One Foot.”
The clip was unveiled across all of the band’s official social media accounts on Saturday, September 23.
This is the band’s first release of new music since Talking Is Hard back in 2014, their second major-label album and their third in total.
Billboard describes “One Foot” as a ‘bouncy track’ with a mix of a ‘disco-like groove and a tribal chant chorus’ in perfect distillation of the band’s signature foot-stomping sound’.
Its accompanying music video perfectly captures the song’s story of exploring unfamiliar territory and testing trust in a relationship during uncertain circumstances, showing a love interest dancing alone and later joined by band front man Nicholas Petricca in a Southern California desert against the solar eclipse.
In an interview with the entertainment magazine, lead singer and keyboardist Petricca said their new single reflects the band’s ride in their year-long hiatus.
“‘One Foot’ is the soundtrack of our journey this past year, moving forward even when the path is uncertain. We’ve never felt more true to ourselves than we do right now, releasing this song and this upcoming record,” he said
One Foot is part of the trio’s upcoming and still untitled fourth album later this year.
The band first rose to fame back in 2011 with their single, Anna Sun. Their breakthrough song, Shut Up + Dance, catapulted the band to worldwide recognition. Some of their other hits include Tightrope, Work That Body and Different Colors.
