Edam cheese or popularly known as Queso de Bola has been part of every Filipino’s Noche Buena menu. The table wouldn’t be complete without this famous semi-hard cheese that traditionally sold in rounded cylinders and wrapped in a red wax.
For the first time in its 36-year history, Eden Cheese released a new Queso de Bola (QDB) flavor exclusive for the holiday season. Produced by Mondelez Philippines, this limited edition QDB-flavored cheese is available until the end of Christmas holidays.
According to Carlo Licuanan, Southeast Asia and China Marketing Director for the Meals category of Mondelez, this move is a step to hopefully grow the carton cheese category. They aim to provide the consumer a different taste of their signature carton cheese that is affordable and will reflect the traditional Filipino Christmas.
“We take pride in launching our Queso de Bola-flavored Eden cheese. It is the first flavor innovation by Eden exclusively for Christmas and is proudly developed here in the Philippines. We put great value in our product that not only reflects the traditional and memorable Paskong Pinoy but also is sensitive to the pockets of Filipinos,” he said.
The Eden QDB flavor is a lot creamier and slightly salty like the usual Queso de Bola. It also has a pale yellow-orange color than the signature Eden cheese. This new flavor is perfect for sandwiches or even an ingredient with famous Filipino dishes like Hamonado and Caldereta.
You can try the goodness of Eden Queso de Bola for only P59 for the 165g pack and P159 for the 440g pack. Available at supermarkets nationwide for a limited time only.
