You won’t have to chant, “Swiper, no swiping!” at this event but you do have to be an explorer like Dora to score the best books.
Book lovers are in for a treat as the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale is coming to Manila for the first time to bring over 2 million new books at the most affordable prices.
The book fair, initially held in Malaysia back in 2009, sells books from BookXcess, a store dealing excess or remaindered books from international distributors. This year, they will stay over at the World Trade Center from February 16-25.
Every bookworm can find every genre there is including fiction, non-fiction, novels, literature, children’s literature, and young adult fiction. Collectible books and posters, wallpapers, movie posters, and tin-plated signs are also available for purchase.
The Big Bad Wolf is nowhere near your average book fair, however, because (1) books available for purchase are discounted for up to 60-80% off the regular prices, (2) admission is totally free, and (3) it will run round the clock for 24 hours. Not even the Metro traffic can hold you back from this big fiesta of books.
A brainchild of BookXcess founders Andrew Yap and Jacqueline Ng, the fair has toured in other countries through the years including Thailand, Indonesia and Sri Lanka. It has been dubbed as the world’s biggest and most affordable book sale.
