Beauty junkies in all forms, shapes, gender, and colors brought the most glamorous version of themselves at the biggest beauty party to date: GlamCon MNL 2018 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Aura in Taguig last Sunday. It was a day filled with informative panel discussions and beauty tutorials at the #GlamGala stage for the participants in attendance.
Some of the country’s top beauty vloggers such as Anne Clutz, Michelle Dy, Ana Victorino, Jessica Godinez, Raiza Contawi, Isha Borromeo, Joyce Sola, Bing Castro, Kristine Roces, Kris Lumagui, Nina Rayos were also present at the #GlamSchool where they shared personal tips and tricks on makeup and skincare.
Queen and Diva ticket holders were also treated like their ticket names to a hair and makeup “glow up” at the Makeup Lounge courtesy of Styluxe Salon and Paintbox Artistry. They were given freebies as well from all the participating local and international brands. They also had the opportunity to personally check out and score exclusive GlamCon deals on brands such as EssLiv, VMV Hypoallergenics, the Skincare Curator, Makeup Revolution, Colourette Cosmetics, Pink Sugar, Naruko, iWhite Korea, Biore, Chihuahua Cosmetics, Miss Bella and Inglot.
The MB Life Team was so excited to see every participating brand and their products. Take a look at some of the beauty finds we loved (and recommend that you try) at GlamCon MNL 2018:
1. Ciracle’s Pore Control Tightening Toner
The lady at Ciracle’s booth said their Pore Control Tightening Toner is their bestseller and there are numerous reasons why. This non-sticky, fast-absorbing toner with natural green tea and witch hazel extract removes dead skin cells gently, lightens dark spots and fades fine lines all without drying or irritating the skin. It also helps in restoring soft and even skin tone, as well as control excessive oil production, blocked pores and acne breakouts.
2. iWhite Korea’s Before Make Up Mask
If your skin needs a little more than just your regular moisturizer, iWhite Korea has come out with affordable sheet masks for you. They have two variants: the Before Makeup Mask (pink) perfect for smoothing the skin before makeup application and the De-Stress Mask (blue) perfect for recovering tired skin. These masks are all paraben-free, triclosan-free and talc-free, too, so your skin will be absorbing the good stuff. As of writing, this mask is not yet available in the market so GlamCon attendees (and you, dear reader) will be the first to get dibs on this awesome new product.
3. Skincare Curator’s Neogen Bio-Peel + Gauze Peeling
Exfoliating is a tricky part of skincare. It must be done just enough to take the dead skin cells and impurities away without stripping the skin of much-needed moisture. Neogen, a Korean skincare brand, has recently gained massive following because of their pre-soaked gauze peel pads. It combines chemical (lactic acid) and physical exfoliants (3 layer pad technology) effective and gentle enough for smoother and clearer skin. The gauze peel in lemon is loaded with Vitamin C, which is a powerful antioxidant and targets blemishes and uneven skin tone. There’s a wine and green tea variant, too, for your other skin needs. It is locally available at the Skincare Curator, who sells other Korean skincare brands sourced directly from the manufacturer.
4. Miss Bella’s Marble Luxe Makeup Brushes
Beauty enthusiasts have probably heard about Miss Bella from top Filipina beauty vloggers like Anne Clutz because of the brand’s reliable makeup organizers and their makeup sponge — famous for being a very affordable duplicate of the Beauty Blender. Miss Bella is also entering the makeup brush arena via its marble brushes. The 10-piece brush set includes four eye brushes and six face brushes sufficient to create a full face of makeup. These extremely soft, vegan, and cruelty-free brushes are made from high-quality synthetic hair with a rose gold metal handle component.
5. Chihuahua Cosmetics’ Mini-Lippie
We always knew that Chihuahuas are adorable but we never knew that lipstick half the usual size can be just as cute. Chihuahua Cosmetics, dubbed as “the first-ever mini-sized cosmetics in the Philippines”, offers makeup items in miniature size, perfect for girls who are always on-the-go. Their lipsticks, in particular, only contain 1.5 grams of product in a packaging only as long as your thumb. Both their matte and crème formulas are highly-pigmented, too.
