The season of sun and sand has finally come. Time to plan your trip to that beach you’ve always wanted to visit or that resort you’d like to spend a day or two with your family.

If you are one of those who (unfortunately) cannot go on a grand vacay because of work or school, there are ways you can survive the unbearable heat this summer. Just wear your summer-ready clothes plus your trustee fan and bottle of water.

We attended the Bench Fashion Week for the big reveal of the brand’s Spring/Summer collection. Here are some outfit ideas we picked up from the runway:

1. Go off-shoulder.

Off-shoulder tops or dresses are one of the most flattering styles the ladies can pull off. It screams comfortable and cool for the summer. Go for a bright yellow mustard off-shoulder dress that goes below the knee like Gabbi Concepcion.

2. Choose loose and flowy.

It gets especially sticky and gross on hot days. Every movement feels like a 24-kilometer run because everyone sweats buckets. Choosing to wear loose clothing is the wise choice (Need we say more?). It helps prevent the stink, too (if you know what we mean). Sport this loose, summer dress in light blue.

3. Bathing suit as a top? Yes, you can!

Who says you can’t wear a bathing suit as a top? You can go strolling at the beach one second and bathing in the sun and ocean at another. Try pairing it with denim shorts for your beach getaway or with jeans and a kimono cardigan for a day of errands in the city.

4. Go mad with prints.

Summer is all about having fun. You can play up your style with mixing and matching prints, much like how Gabbi wore stripes, plaid, and polka dots in her outfit. You can also choose to go monochromatic from head to toe or add random pops of color.

5. Get comfy in shorts.

You can never go wrong with denim shorts to keep you cool and comfy in the smoldering heat. Pair it with your white, off-shoulder top like Gabbi. You can also wear a basic white tee and you’re good to go.

Which of these outfits will you wear this summer? We bet you’d try all.
