It’s that time of the year again when you can rock those sunglasses (even at night?) … but are you wearing the right type and shape for your facial shape?

Fear not for we sought the help of a brand that is well-known when it comes to timeless and stylish eye wear that continuously adapts to the clientele’s fashion needs.

Ray-Ban Philippines is now open at Greenbelt 5 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Ray-Ban Philippines welcomed us to their humble abode. They’re now open at Greenbelt 5 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Vincent Teotico, Ray-Ban assistant marketing manager, took MB Life to a tour around the Ray-Ban Pop-Up Concept Store over at Greenbelt in Makati City – the first ever pop-up store of the brand in Asia – to explain what type of eyewear frame best suits various facial shapes and to also enlighten us about the type of sunglasses to use for each occasion.

“The trend now is that people go for oversized Aviators and Wayfarers, mostly to give them that celebrity vibe often seen in Hollywood and n the red carpet. Filipinos try to adopt the American culture and [for this season] they go for the oversized [frames]. The most popular eyewear now is the oversized Wayfarer… and the classics, of course,” shared Teotico.

In case you’re wondering, sunglasses are not as simple as they look like. While it’s true that anything that blocks out the rays of the sun from your eyes can be dubbed a “sunglass,” there are specific names for each, which you should know in case you’re planning to buy a pair for yourself.

According to Teotico, oversized and normal-sized frames are perfect for those who are round-faced, while Aviators and Flash Lenses go well with small faces. Those with an elongated and thin face usually purchase the ones with oversized frames.

If ever you pay them a visit, don’t forget to try out the foosball table! It’s such a fun shop. Promise!
