There are thirteen things up in heaven,

One of which are the eyes that kiss the bright sun,

The golden corn in her hair has ripened

Had blossomed to cotton angels have spun

Daisies and tulips hung on her bright face

Roses, red roses, shaped to a kiss

A pauper’s shoes adorned with frills and lace

Those songs of flora that I wouldn’t miss

Wooden harps and wooden flutes they displayed

In wooden case and in wooden drawers,

Her presence hugs the air it never stayed

Green vines, little branches, colored flowers

Reached to heaven with myself to bring, but

She made a ladder with these thirteen things
