It has been five days since the May 9 polls but the election tension is just as fresh as it was.
To continue living the happy lives we lived prior to the ruckus over politics on social media, here are eight simple steps on how to break free from election tension.
1. Stalk you favorite candidates one last time.
2. Stop making your world revolve around him/her.
3. Make up with your friends you unfriended
4. Start appreciating posts of the triumphant few.
Just like liking posts of people who found their “forever”, stop being bitter when you see people rejoicing with their candidate who triumphed in the May 9 polls. You won’t benefit from being bitter in the next six years of the soon-to-be proclaimed candidates’ term. Some posts are even touching if only you accept that it’s just not yet the right time for you and your beloved politician.
Most of the candidates have already accepted their fate and are now moving on… so you can, too.
5. Munch on comfort food.
Ice cream? Chocolates? Cakes? Go grab some and indulge in whatever will make you happy. Do everything just to move on from all the fuss. Chocolates are also easy to carry so you can just munch on one when some starts blabbing about how their favorite politician won and yours didn’t (Brush it off in case this happens).
Fun fact: Chocolates contain cocoa which contain happiness boosters that can #FreeTheJoy.
6. Make funny things go viral again.
Hit that share button when you see a hilarious post… and by “hilarious”, we mean something that can bring your spirits up – not the “what-you’re-saying-is-so-stupid-it’s-hilarious” type. Go share that video of pandas falling from their crib, that cat that cannot get out of the glass vase, that dog that adorably got stuck in the fence.
7. Watch this bear dance… because why not?
