Included in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants very short 6-point list on the trending must-visit restaurants in Australasia and Southeast Asia is Mecha Uma, Chef Bruce Rickett’s BGC restaurant popular and well-loved for its delicious tasting menu.
Two restaurants from Singapore, including the beloved Odette, two from Australia and Bangkok’s Le Du make the entire list. All six restaurants received votes in the last round of the 50 Best voting.
“Expect fun combinations and punchy flavours on the omakase menu,” writes Laura Price on the feature. Among her recommendations are the fish sandwich upgrades,’ and the the rice bowl topped with slivers of beef, Japanese rum and gyoza.
Mecha Uma is a collaboration between Chef Bruce Rickets, of Sensei Sushi fame and The Moment Group. It opened in 2014 much to the delight of Manila’s foodies on the lookout for a proper chef’s table.
The World’s 50 seems to have an eye out for the Philippines. Apart from Gallery Vask getting included in this year’s Asia’s 50 Best, World’s 50 also named Margarita Fores Asia’s Best Female Chef for 2016.
