The first and only craft brewery in Palawan, Palaweño Brewery, is looking to produce more beer next year.
From 300 cases a month, Palaweño Brewery plans to increase beer production to 1,200 cases by March 2017.
It’s a move that shows just how well the local craft bar scene is doing. According to Ayah Javier, when Palaweno Brewery started in 2012, there were only five craft beer breweries. “Now, there are 33!”
You’d be pleasantly surprised to know that the 33 breweries are evenly distributed across the country, with Palawan beautifully represented by this small but awesome brewery.
Palaweño Brewery currently has five beers on offer: The Ambog Ale (American Amber Ale), Palawan Wit (the Belgian Wheat Beer), Palaw’an (Honey Kolsch), Ayahay IPA and Hunter (Honey Nut Brown).
Palaweño Brews are available in Cebu, Davao, and in its Puerto Princesa tap house (81 Manalo St., Puerto Princesa). In Manila, you can get a taste of these babies at Global Beer Exchange aka The Bottle Shop (Unit 103 Tritan Ventures Building, Paseo de Magallanes, Makati. +632 8956175) and at the Perfect Pint (2/F Crossroads Building, 32nd Street, Bonifacio Global City. +632 8231320) .
