If you’re sentimental like that, perhaps it’s time to visit the original Gino’s Brick Oven Pizza on Katipunan—the one on the second floor of K2 Building with a Mercury Drug below—this weekend.

On Instagram, owner Jutes Templo announced that Gino’s Katipunan will close down on Sunday, Jan 15. But heave a sigh of relief because it will reopen in a few weeks’ time just down the road in another Katipunan location.

Further sleuthing revealed the new location will be nearer the Ateneo campus, beside Old Spaghetti House, where Pizza Hut used to be.

Gino’s Brick Oven Pizza, which first opened six years ago on the second floor of K2 Building on Katipunan—quickly established a loyal following for its delicious but super affordable pizzas first and then with alternatives like the Salted Egg Pasta (P225), and the Burrata Caprese (P425) that are just as good and just as affordable.

Our favorite? The Bianca Verde (P365), of course! Three types of cheese with basil and arugula on top of that exquisite crust: Yum.

QC folks can still get their Gino’s fix in several branches across Metro Manila, while waiting for the new location to open. There’s Gino’s on the 3/F of Podium in Ortigas, in Serendra BGC in Taguig, and in Salcedo Village in Makati.
