And so we learn that H&M actually has a Chinese New Year campaign and none other than Chinese actors Li Chen and Fan Bingbing—who have been exclusively dating for a good 18 months—are fronting it.
The Swedish brand certainly knows how to welcome the new year. It tapped renowned fashion photographer Chen Man to take the photos of the real-life power couple.
The Year of the Metal Rooster campaign, we were told, is supposed to highlight love and joy—which is what Li Chen hopes we get while viewing their photos. “We hope that the warmth and job from the campaign shoot will resonate with our fans,” Li Chen says.
“During the Spring Festival, everyone wants to stand out in style when the streets are awash in auspicious red. We hope our campaign with H&M will bring the Year of the Rooster alive in style in different cities of Asia,” Fan Bingbing adds.
It’s a limited-edition collection and is only available in nine countries: China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
According to Harpers Bazaar, this year marks the fourth specially designed Chinese New Year collection.
