A lucky 15-year-old Zyra Nicole Cifra will not only have a gown to wear to her prom next month, she gets to wear a beautiful Sherry Hill dress that’s been on Miss Universe.
All thanks to her mother, Issay Gallano, who joined Miss Bulgaria Violina Ancheva’s contest.
Swear, the things mothers do. #LoveYouMom
Before Miss Bulgaria left the Philippines a day after the coronation night, she posted on Facebook that she’s giving away one of her Miss Universe gowns to a Filipina. The viral post garnered 169k likes and 28k shares with comments from aspiring girls who wants to get the beauty queen’s dress.
On Facebook, Issay posted photos of her daughter wearing the gown and wrote, “Thank you so much Miss Bulgaria. You have a beautiful heart. We wish you all the best. God bless you and your family.”
According to CNN Philippines, Issay was already checking her SSS to see if she has enough money to buy Nicole a prom dress. She was also ready to pawn her necklace to add to the budget.
Miss Bulgaria replied to a bunch of messages but it was with Issay that she was able to successfully strike up deal—logistics, pickup, and all. She was leaving the Philippines on Tuesday, after all.
Miss Bulgaria said that she decided to give away her dress because she find Filipinos very thoughtful.
“When we were in Davao, Cebu, and other places, people always, always, gave us flowers, souvenirs. With this dress, I have very happy moments. I want the girl, the next owner of the dress, to feel beautiful and happy,” she said.
Violina may not have won the Miss Universe competition, but she truly won our hearts. Good job, Miss Bulgaria! <3
