First things first: At the very least, Presidential son and bad boy heartthrob Baste Duterte seems to have set things straight.
On Facebook Feb 2, Baste reacted to his father’s remarks about his relationship with Ellen Adarna, saying he’s broken up with the sexy star already.
“I really love being his favorite son. Chill lang Pa, bulag na mi December pa, nakalimot lang ka giingnan taka atong New Year naa ta sa balay ni mama,” he wrote.
(I really love being his favorite son. Chill lang Pa, break na kami December pa. Nakalimutan mo lang na sinabihan kita nung new year nung nandun tayo sa bahay ni mama)
But the thing that struck us—and thanks to Pep.ph for pointing it out and translating it to Tagalog: The seeming overlap in his relations.
Answering a netizen’s comment on the thread, Baste said: “Wala mi nagbulag ni Kate. Mao tong isa wa kaantos sige kog awayun maong ning batsi ko ato niya”
(Hindi kami nag-break ni Kate, kaya yung isa hindi nakatiis lagi ako inaaway kaya lumayo ako sa kanya)
Ellen herself announced the breakup—and thereby confirmed there was a relationship—on her Instagram account a few weeks ago.
“It was a very weird breakup,” she said. “It’s funny. Instead of texting a girlfriend na ‘good morning,’ ang text niya, ‘Ano na lang kaya kung maghiwalay tayo?’ Sabi ko, okay. And then hindi na kami. Actually hindi ako na-shock.“
Um, so does this mean that when they were caught kissing on camera—remember that viral photo of Baste and Ellen back in November?—he was still in a relationship with the mother of his kids?
Is this how people go about their relationships these days? No judgements, just a huge feeling that we might be turning out to be the conservative tita in this narrative. *scratches head*
