Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Almost every restaurant has its own pakulo for the most romantic day of the year. Manila Bulletin listed some of the most romantic restaurants in Manila. We pick our favorite five from the list.
1. Rustic Mornings by Isabelo
11 I. Mendoza St. San Roque, Marikina City. +632 4258610. 8am-9pm
One of the most popular restaurants in Marikina, Rustic Mornings offers a wide variety of our breakfast favorites. But what makes it special is the peaceful, rural-like setting of the resto. They have an al fresco dining area and a converted garden perfect for a romantic evening. With its elegant interiors and sumptuous meals combo, your Valentine’s Day celebration will be one for the books.
2. Cafe Juanita
19 West Capitol Dr, Kapitolyo, Pasig City. +632 6320357. 11am to 2pm, 5:30pm to 10pm.
It doesn’t matter that Cafe Juanita is located right in the middle of the very crowded Kapitolyo. The long-standing Kapitolyo restaurant remains to exude all the right romantic vibes, thanks to his fabric chandeliers, fabulous antique furniture, and all the fabulous and the shabby chic add-ons. The food is as close to what Filipino cooking is all about. Their pork adobo and angel hair pasta with aligue is a must try!
3. Casa Roces
1153 JP Laurel cor. Aguado St. San Miguel, Manila. +632 7084020. 10am to 10pm
Offering a Filipino-Spanish food, Casa Roces is a ancestral home-turned-restaurant. The home has been reborn into a stylish restaurant that is best described as classic-meets-contemporary, located near the historical Malacanang Palace.
4. Ninyo Fusion Cuisine & Wine Lounge
66 Esteban Abada St. Loyola Heights, Quezon City. +632 4260301. Tue to Sun, 11am to 2pm, 6pm to 10pm.
A private cabana with flowy white fabric curtains, dinner by candlelight, and modern international cuisine? No wonder Billy Crawford and Coleen Garcia got engaged here. Many couples celebrating anniversaries consider this place as their romantic escape from the busy city, and we totally get why. Ninyo dictates romance through by through.
5. Champagne Room
The Manila Hotel, One Rizal Park, Manila. +632 527 0011.
The French-inspired restaurant is a must-try for every couple who wants to experience a French and European menu tie-in. The classic furniture, chandelier and the white and cream color motif with hints of pastels, are romantic indeed. This resto is also one of Manila Hotel’s finest.
