Not having a special someone on Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean you need to hide under the covers and wait for the day to pass in order for you to have fun.
Being single is freaking awesome. You can have as much fun as every happy couple, you know. Below are eight suggestions for solo flights. Cheers!
1. Watch a movie at Cinematheque Centre Manila
Watching a romantic film on V-day does not mean you need to be accompanied by a BF/GF. Prepare to let your hearts out as Cinematheque Centre Manila will bring back two of our indie favorites, Ang Nawawala by Marie Jamora and Sana Dati by Jerrold Tarog. These two films will let you experience the kilig sensation even if you’re not in a relationship.
Cinematheque Centre Manila is located at 855 T.M. Kalaw St., Ermita Manila. 10am to 7:30pm. +632 256 8331 /+632 256 9908.
2. Pamper yourself.
Taking care of yourself is a good way to take the attention off the day and put the attention back to yourself. Have a makeover session at the Sora an Aveda Salon and avail their promos from a new haircut to perming this whole month of February.
Sora an Aveda Salon is located at GF Fort Pointe Bldg., 28th St. Bonifacio Gobal City, Taguig. 9am-7pm. +63 977 482 8200.
3. Hang-out with your fam
Celebrate the day with people that will always be there and will always love you no matter what. Go on a date with your mom, dad or your siblings. Have a lunch date and take them on a tour at the National Museum. On Feb 14, National Museum will showcase the life and works of the notable Filipino architect, Francisco “Bobby” Manosa. Good news: the museum’s admission is free all year round!
National Museum is located at 1000 Padre Burgos Ave, Ermita, Manila. 10am-5pm. +632 527 1215
4. Travel alone
Traveling with someone special is sweet, but traveling on your own can be also a great learning experience. Go on this beach in Zambales all by yourself for only P1000! Look at the itinerary below made by a Facebook user named Diether Gaviola:
5. Organize a girls’ night out
Valentine’s day can be a galentine’s day for many. Celebrating this day with your co-singles would be really fun! Alamat Filipino Pub is throwing a party for Single Ladies on February 14. For only P500, single ladies can drink whatever they want from Alamat’s menu.
Alamat Filipino Pub is located at 2/F 5666 Don Pedro St, Poblacion, Makati. 6pm-2am. +639175302580
6. Go shopping
Take advantage of this day and buy that dress that you’ve been wanting to wear. Forever 21 has a 20% off discount on their dresses until Feb 14!
7. Binge watch a series
It’s a great way to waste the day away. If you want feel the romantic vibes of Feb 14, watch a series about love and relationships, but if you want to forget all about it, Santa Clarita Diet is right for you. This Netflix’s newest offering is recommended for those who want to scream and laugh at the same time.
8. Be a third-wheel
Sometimes, being a third-wheel can be a little bit awkward—not at Cow & Chicken Modern Brunch Dining on Valentine’s Day, though. The restaurant is offering the delectable P599-meal to third-wheelers for free, if the couple they’re accompanying is ordering the same: A three-course meal consisting of bruschetta and dip for appetizers, wagyu steak, unlimited pomme frites (french fries) for the main course, and delectable mangoes and Malagos Chocolate on waffles for dessert.
