If you have a low tolerance for blood and gore, you probably shouldn’t eat anything while you watch the first few episodes of Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet.
The 10-episode comedy series is about an average suburban realtor couple Sheila Hammond (Drew Barrymore) and Joel Hammond (Timothy Olyphant). Life changes for the Hammonds when Sheila wakes up one morning feeling a bit under the weather.
Apparently, Sheila has become a creature of the undead, without a heartbeat and craving for human flesh.
Here are five shocking scenes that you can’t unsee from this peculiar Netflix original. (Warning: Spoilers ahead. Read at your own risk.)
1. Vomit eruption
While showing a house to potential buyers, Sheila suddenly lets out a huge amount of vomit. Like seriously, a volcanic eruption of vomit on the newly installed carpet. She then excuses herself to the bathroom, where she vomits even more, releasing an unknown organ.
2. Eating raw meat
This probably isn’t too gross, given our occasional craving for beef tartare, sushi, and kilawin. But seeing Drew Barrymore eating raw ground pork and chicken? It’s a little stomach-turning.
3. Human buffet
When Gary (Nathan Fillion), Shelia’s officemate tried to sexually harassed her, she bites two fingers off his hands. As Gary screams about his missing fingers, Sheila then turn his body into a human buffet across the lawn. That’s when Sheila gave up raw meat, because hey, human flesh is better. Yikes!
4. Breakfast smoothie
Since Sheila cannot drink a typical breakfast smoothie, she then decided to prepare a one-of-a-kind drink for herself. Chopped ears, fingers and other human body parts goes to the blender for daily energizer while having her morning run with friends. Gross.
5. Bloody hairball
After Joel kills their douchebag of a neighbor Dan, Shelia becomes in charge of hiding the evidence—in her stomach, that is. Unfortunately, Dan is really hairy. Which is why there is a scene with Shelia coughing up a giant, bloody hairball. Haha, eew.
