It’s almost been four years since John Mayer last released anything from the studio—Paradise Valley, his sixth, if you recall. So we’re absolutely excited for April 14 because the singer will be releasing his seventh studio album, The Search for Everything. Yay!

Drumming up the excitement for the much-awaited album are two EPs he released in earlier this year:  The Search for Everything: Wave One, released in January, has four songs (“Moving On and Getting Over,” “Changing,” “Love on the Weekend,” and “You’re Gonna Live Forever in Me).

The Search for Everything: Wave Two, meanwhile also has four songs (“Emoji of a Wave,” “Helpless,” “Roll it on Home,” and “Still Feel Like Your Man”). It was released in February.

Here’s where it gets interesting: In an interview with the New York Times, Mayer surprisingly admits that “Still Feel Like Your Man” is all about… Katy Perry. Aww!

If you’ll remember, the two pop stars first dated in 2012 before splitting up in 2014.

“Who else would I be thinking about?” he said. “And by the way, it’s a testament to the fact that I have not dated a lot of people in the last five, six years. That was my only relationship. So it’s like, give me this, people.”

Honestly, the lyrics are pretty sad. Oh, John, why?

“I still keep your shampoo in my shower
In case you wanna wash your hair
And I know that you probably found yourself some more somewhere
But I do not really care

“Still like the letters in your name and how they feel, babe
Still think I’m never gonna find another you
Still like to leave the party early and go home, babe
And don’t you know, babe
I’d rather sit here on my own and be alone, babe”

Since Katy and John’s relationship officially came to an end in 2014, he said that he now uses an exclusive dating app and said that, “there are very few people actually meeting up.”
