The trailer for I Am Heath Ledger, the upcoming documentary on the life of Aussie actor and director Heath Ledger, has been released by Spike TV in time for his 38th birthday last April 4.

Known for films such as Brokeback Mountain, 10 Things I Hate About You, The Dark Knight, and his last act on the movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, a 28-year-old Heath Ledger passed away on his New York apartment almost 10 years ago due to accidental intoxication of prescription drugs.

Nevertheless, his short-lived life has been enough to paint Hollywood colorful since his debut.

I Am Heath Ledger is a 90-minute movie filled with never-before-seen home videos and footages from the days before and during his Hollywood fame. the upcoming 90-minute movie by Fathom Events and Network Entertainment aims to present an insightful take on Heath’s true character.

The teaser also featured previews of talks from his family, friends, and colleagues including his sister, Kate Ledger, director Ang Lee, musician Ben Harper, actor Ben Mendehlson, and his childhood friend, Trevor DiCarlo, who described the young actor’s career as a gateway to his filmmaking craft.

I Am Heath Ledger premieres on April 23, 2017 at the Tribeca Film Festival and opens in selected US cinemas on May 3, 2017.
