The hot topic these days—besides Kris Aquino’s Hollywood bulaga—is the Dolce and Gabbana shirt seen on Marian Rivera and Heart Evangelista. People are arguing about who wore it better, who owns the fake one, and so it goes.
The last one is especially funny, because the shirt itself is satirical. According to Preview.ph, “Taking inspiration from fast fashion copycats, Dolce & Gabbana released white logo tees that present a satirical approach to the problematic issue.”
The shirt is called #DGTheRealFake by the way, and it’s part of the brand’s Spring 2017 collection, “with prices ranging from $745 to $1495.”
Serious cashola, no? According to today’s currency exchange, that’s ranging from P37,108.77 to P74,458.46
There are so many things, nay, experiences you can get with that money! Below are seven things right off the top of our head!
1. A trip to Europe via the world’s most awarded airline
Singapore Airlines had a seat sale earlier in the year that could buy you a round-trip airfare to Paris or London with the amount on the cheapest end of the shirt’s price range! Insane, we know.
We just checked its website and saw that even without a sale, you can get yourself to Paris in economy class and back for $1,156.50—a few dollars less than what the shirt costs at its most expensive.
2. Experience what’s it like to ride business class
For what it’s worth, you can also even get a seat in business class on a Philippine Airlines flight to Tokyo and back—that’s $1,304.20.
3. An overnight stay in a luxury island
The most expensive of the shirt is also equivalent to an overnight stay in Amanpulo; the most affordable of its accommodations is priced at $1350, we check its website.
4. Attend a ginormous music festival
And then there are concert tickets, omg. Coachella VIP passes for this year are at $899 each! Or purchase a pair of general admission passes, because festivals are best enjoyed with a friend. That’s $399 each for a total of less than $800 bucks.
5. A month’s worth of salary
If we’re going serious: You know what else is worth P37,000? A month’s salary of a junior executive in the IT department with less than five years experience, that’s what.
6. Bringing a baby out to life!
The shirt’s price range is also worth a normal delivery in a private hospital, which starts at P40,000 to P50,000 according to imoney.ph.
7. Get a semester’s worth of education
The shirt can also get you a semester’s worth of education at the University of Sto. Tomas, at least according to the latest data released.
Our whole point being: The debate is silly, you guys. Look up from your phones and see what else the world has in store. And as our favorite Ethel Booba would say: Charot.
