The lead vocalist of OPM band Spongecola, Yael Yuzon translated one of the band’s tagalog songs, “Jeepney,” into English due to an alleged mall policy. Uh-oh.
The singer was asked to perform at the launch of a mobile brand in SM Megamall Fashion Hall last Tuesday, April 18.
On Twitter, Yael said that the English version of the 2004 hit single was translated on-the-spot.
On the spot yan! Translating on the go https://t.co/ThPSFBAMVt

Before his performance, he said to the audience, “Technically, I’m not allowed to speak in Filipino, so I’m going to translate this song for you.”
Netizens commended Yuzon for being professional and bashed SM’s management for prohibiting the singer to perform a tagalog song to their premium mall.
They wouldn't let Yael Yuzon sing his biggest hit cause it was in Tagalog and he was performing in the 'premium' section of the mall. WTF PH
